How do I get a web page online?
There are 3 basic steps for a web page:

1. Buy the domain name, ie mybusiness.com

2. Purchase a hosting account.

3. Have the page designed and uploaded to the hosting account.

Steps 1 and 2 are often combined.  For example, this page is hosted at netfirms.com and the fee for hosting includes the annual cost of a domain name registration.
 

Some important design principles regarding web sites:

• The site must be designed to be customer-centric, not how management views the organization.
• The site content should be updated on a regular basis to keep the site interesting and keep visitors coming back.
• It is best to avoid extensive graphics and multimedia that cause the site to load too slowly.
• Site should be easy to navigate and include contact information.
